Event Report: Women's Breakfast Weekend Activity
On 19th October, the IJCC held the first in our new event series, the Women's Weekend Breakfast Activity.
The IJCC is committed to fostering an inclusive business community for all members. The aim of this event is to provide a space for female members of the IJCC to meet informally, network and exchange ideas.
This first event was limited to 8 attendees via private invitation to female members based in the Kanto area. Over a delicious brunch course, IJCC Directors Brietta O'Leary, Aisling Barry and Harumi Kanaya met with members and discussed plans to build a robust Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. Moving forward, the Committee will be open to all IJCC members to join and work together towards building a more inclusive organisation.
The first Breakfast Activity resulted in formalising the DEI Committee and the format of the next Women's Weekend Breakfast Activity. We invite all IJCC female members and female friends of the IJCC to join us at this next event on 14th December. Thanks again to all who participated on Saturday, for their passion and openness and for sharing their experiences.
While the Breakfast Activity is focused on IJCC women's inclusion, the scope of the DEI Committee encompasses all levels of diversity. If you are interested in joining the IJCC DEI Committee, the next meeting will be held online on the 12th November (Tues) from 19:30 - 20:30 JST. Please get in touch at (secretariat [at] ijcc.jp) or reach out to Director Brietta O'Leary.
If you are not a member of the IJCC, we invite you to join our community. Learn more about membership at https://ijcc.jp/membership
