Event Report: Ireland & Japan Business Seminar Series - "From Ecopa to the Aviva: The Story So Far"

On November 5, the IJCC, represented by Dominic Keogh and Mary Honohan, in collaboration with the Japan Business Society in Ireland (JBS), hosted an exclusive event featuring Eddie Jones, Head Coach of Japan’s national rugby team. The event formed part of the Ireland & Japan Business Seminar Series. 

To coincide with the Ireland vs Japan match in the 2025 Autumn Nations Series at the Aviva Stadium, the evening brought together a panel including Eddie Jones, Phil Davies (World Rugby’s Director of Rugby and former Wales international), and Mark Egan, Board Director at the Japan Rugby Football Union. 

Together, they shared valuable insights on the evolution of the game, the growing ties between Irish and Japanese rugby, and the journey from Rugby World Cup 2019 toward the next global tournament. 
The evening began with a drinks reception and dinner, followed by an engaging Q&A session - offering guests an opportunity to network with peers and leading figures across sport and business.
