IJCC lobbies Japanese and Irish governments on social security
The IJCC has been lobbying the Japanese and Irish governments to conclude a bilateral social security agreement. The absence of such an agreement between the two countries is a major cause for concern to the Japan-Ireland business community as it imposes an additional and unnecessary cost to companies and acts as a barrier to the free flow of managerial and technical staff within companies with operations in Japan and Ireland. This issue has been identified as a concern by both Japanese business in Ireland and Irish business in Japan.
The IJCC Board of Directors has issued a position paper on this issue which has been sent to the Japanese and Irish Governments, the Nippon Keidanren, the Keizai Doyukai and the European Business Council in Japan.
