Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce honours Astellas Pharma, Bio-Medical Research, Parc Aviation and Neriki at IJCC Business Awards

 

Tokyo, December 9, 2011 – The IJCC Business Awards Dinner was held last night in the Conrad Tokyo. The IJCC Business Awards were set up to acknowledge the contributions of companies which are key to Ireland-Japan business relations. The dinner was attended by IJCC Patron, Ambassador of Ireland to Japan, H.E. John Neary and the former Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, Mr. Dick Spring. 

 

The IJCC was last night honoured to present an IJCC Business Award to Astellas Pharma Inc. Chairman, Mr. Masafumi Nogimori, for the global pharmaceutical company’s contribution to a sustainable environment. Astellas this year commenced the construction of an 800KW wind turbine at their Kerry, Ireland plant. It will stand at 100meters tall and generate approximately 20% of the plant’s electrically requirements and reduce the plant’s carbon dioxide emissions by over 1,000 tonnes per year. This award was sponsored by IDA Ireland.

 

 

Ms. Sue Lewis, the Asia Pacific Business Development Manager of BMR Slendertone was presented an IJCC Business Award in recognition of the significant sales results of the EMS machine - "Slendertone EVOLUTION" in 2011.  Bio-Medical Research (BMR) Ltd., based in Galway, Ireland has over 30 years’ experience in the research, design, manufacture and marketing of medical grade products for both muscle strengthening and pain relief. SLENDERTONE is the consumer products division of BMR and is a world leader in providing smart, personalised, interactive products that improve body shape, health and fitness. This award was sponsored by Enterprise Ireland.  

 

Parc Aviation CEO, Sean Butler, was presented with an IJCC Business Award in recognition of the company’s exceptional export performance in the Japanese Aviation Services Market. Parc Aviation, part of the Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) group, is the global market leader in providing aviation personnel and support services to airlines, MROs, aircraft manufacturers and aircraft leasing organisations; currently providing over 1000 personnel on assignment to over 50 organisations in more than 30 countries. Headquartered in Dublin, Parc Aviation has been part of the OAA group since 2008. This award was sponsored by Enterprise Ireland. 

 

Neriki CEO, Mr. Norio Daicho, was presented with an IJCC Award for the company’s continued commitment to Ireland. BBB Neriki produces and sells high-pressure gas cylinder valves for various industries including the medical and semiconductor industries. In 1996, BBB Neriki established Neriki Marketing International and Neriki Europe in Ireland to service the European market. BBB Neriki’s factory in Ireland now employs 45 people and is located in Bray, Co. Wicklow. This award was sponsored by IDA Ireland.
