IJCC - Disaster Relief Fund
As you all know Japan has been going through some very tough times over the last few weeks with the disasters of the earthquake and tsunami on March 11th. The north east region has been particularly badly affected by this, with many of the survivors having lost everything. The Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce has decided to set up a disaster relief fund in order to help those in need.
We would like to ask you, our members and friends, to contribute generously to this fund. The relief fund will run until the 30th of April 2011 and the IJCC Board of Directors will decide which effort to donate the fund to after researching which organizations can best help those directly affected. The IJCC will be directly contributing the sum of JPY100,000 and one of our corporate members, EIRE Systems, has pledged to donate the sum of JPY250,000 to the IJCC disaster relief fund. We would like to request all our members to support this.
If you would like to contribute to the IJCC disaster relief fund please contact us by telephone or email indicating how much you would like to donate. We will then send you the fund's bank account details. We are also welcome to receiving cash donations at our chamber office in Ireland House or at our upcoming chamber events. We will send out information on those events in the coming weeks.
